Have you ever created a vision for yourself, worked your ass off, had doors close, felt defeated, picked yourself up, and relentlessly continued to pursue what you wanted, and then wallah a BREAKTHROUGH! You look around and you have the opportunity of a lifetime? WELLLLLL…. Let me tell you about my current situation.

2 years ago, when I was graduating from my MBA, I had the opportunity to interview for two amazing companies, I went through multiple rounds of interviewing, I flew out the state for both, to come home empty handed and depressed. I felt so defeated in those moments. I took the time to feel all of those emotions (binge-watching Netflix and not answering my phone) but didn’t allow that to stop me from continuing my journey toward greatness.

Fast forward to June of this year, I came across an opportunity on LinkedIn with one of the most amazing companies in the world. I decided to throw my hat in the ring to be considered. Honestly, I didn’t know if I had a chance in hell, but its something that I wanted.

This position literally had my name written all over it. It was my actual DREAM JOB. First, it spoke to my passion for providing access to opportunity. Second, it is in the industry that I want to work in, technology. Third, It’s major requirements were all of my strengths, building relationships, coaching, sales, and presenting.

After seeing the post on LinkedIn, I sent the recruiter an email expressing my interest, she requested and reviewed my resume, and set-up a phone screen. After the phone screen, I met with the team lead, that started out with some technical difficulties. I was nervous as all hell but was 100 percent me. Over the next two months, I had multiple interviews onsite, via skype, and over the phone with different team members. During these interviews, I laughed, cried, and really felt completely comfortable. I actually didn’t do any prep for the last interview, and in that moment, I knew that this was MY JOB, and it was.

Tomorrow, I am walking on to an AMAZING campus for the Opportunity of a lifetime. I feel honored, happy, proud, excited, nervous, and truly blessed. I feel like a kid before the first day of school. This is my TIME! I say that with confidence and true belief.
